54 Merit scholarships are being offered at NUI Galway, Ireland for undergraduate and postgraduate level students. Undergraduate Merit Scholarships

8 Undergraduate merit scholarships are available at NUI Galway for full-time bachelor students (excluding undergradaute medical students) that have received an offer to study at the university starting in September 2020. The scholarship is valid for first year fees only and the award is 2,000 euros towards tuition fee waiver.

Scholarships application is decided on candidate’s academic merit. Applicants are required to submit a personal statement (MS Word, maximum 1,000 words) which includes; applicants interest in studying at NUI Galway and how the applicant would see themselves as an ambassador for NUI Galway. Applicants can apply via email, please submit your personal statement to InternationalScholarships@nuigalway.ie before 30th June 2020, the email subject should be Undergraduate Merit Scholarship. E-mail confirming receipt for the scholarship application will be replied within 5 working days.

Postgraduate Merit Scholarships

20 Graduate Merit Scholarships (2000 euros) are available at NUI Galway for non-EU postgraduate students who have received an offer to study at the university for September 2020 session and have confirmed their acceptance. No additional application is required to apply for this award, applications will be decided on merit along by the department applied to. The last date to confirm your acceptance of study offer via payment of an acceptance deposit is June 5, 2020. Other Merit Scholarships

5 taught postgraduate scholarships (2000 euros each) for candidates from USA, in addition to 1 (undergraduate and postgraduate) merit scholarship each (4000 euros) is available to citizens from the following countries: Colombia, Mexico, Ghana, Nigeria, Malaysia, Indonesia.

To apply for these country specific scholarships, the applicants need to submit a personal statement (MS Word, maximum 1,000 words) which includes; interest in studying at NUI Galway and how the applicant foresees their relationship to NUI Galway, how will the applicant promote one’s connection to NUI Galway as a student and alumni. Applications are required to be submitted via email to to InternationalScholarships@nuigalway.ie. The date to apply for these merit scholarships is from February 19 to June 5, 2020.

China: Claddagh Scholarship Scheme

10 scholarships for candidates from China are eligible to apply for the Claddagh scholarships at NUI Galway. These scholarships are offered as a partial tuition fee waiver for the first year fees, students must have accepted admission to undergraduate or postgraduate program. Max Arthur Macauliffe Special Merit Scholarship

3 Macauliffe Scholarships are offered at NUI Galway which comprise of a full tuition fee waiver. Indian students are welcomed from Indian students seeking to enter one of the selected taught Master’s program starting September 2020. The deadline to apply for this scholarship is June 5, 2020.
